Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by following spirit day dress themes, competing for their respective grades. It cumulates into a school-wide pep rally, celebrating the spirit of the school amidst Homecoming Week.
Montgomery Blair High School’s annual event: a dance in the gymnasium, featuring a DJ, music, snacks, decoration, and lighting. A Homecoming Court consisting of all grades are announced at this event.
In coordination with INOVA, the SGA organizes a blood drive in the Fall and in the Spring. We give students the opportunity to donate blood in the gymnasium.
The SGA collaborates with Manna Food Center to collect non perishables and canned foods that will be distributed in the Montgomery County area in time for the holiday season.
The SGA organizes a coat drive in the winter, in which students will be able to donate coats to less fortunate people.
Just before the holiday season, the SGA organizes a toy drive, in which students will be able to donate toys to less fortunate children in the community.
Throughout the month of February, the SGA works with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise money for patients with blood cancers.
Collaborating with NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), SGA dedicates a week to informing students about mental health through an open mic, advertising tables, and public speakers in Health and Psychology classes.
The SGA works with the PTA to plan a night of festivities where Blazers of all different backgrounds can come and embrace their cultures. Families are encouraged to bring foods from their countries, followed by a series of performances from various students and clubs.
Blazers practice their right to vote for the Student Member of the Board as well as their Class President and Vice President for the upcoming school year.
